Wrath (Seven Deadlies MC) Page 20

Arrow didn't get more than two words out at first.

  “Okay, okay-”

“Yeah, I get it. Look, shit’s been crazy over here, but I got it. I got the book. I found in the bitch’s room while she was knocked out. There’s a lot of heat comin’ down on us, so I can’t leave, but you can come pick it up.”

There was a long moment of silence before the same voice mumbled something indiscernible.

Arrow quickly gave whomever he was speaking to the code to the front gate.

“Make sure you keep it quiet. Ditch the bikes before you get here, man. I don’t want a bullet in my brain if they see you,” Arrow said into the phone.

Rayna was minutely impressed with his acting skills, but then, he’d fooled all of them already.

She shouldn’t be surprised that a snake like him could turn on Haze and Jaden much like he’d turned on her, turned on the club.

When Arrow pulled away from the phone, Limit hung up the call and slid it into his pocket.

“They’ll be here within the hour,” Arrow said.

Rayna looked at Limit, who looked at Ox.

  Ox waved at her.

“Your show. You lead the inquisition.”

  “Why sell me out?”

  “Why not sell you out?”

Arrow had blood dripping from his mouth, and when he spoke, Rayna noticed he was missing his two front teeth.

“Who told the Blazin’ Eagles about the book? Did they tell you that?,” She asked.

Rayna had never been able to figure that one out, not in all the time she’d spent with them.

“Someone heard you dad mention it, I guess. Why does it matter how they found out? What matters is that the know about it,” Arrow said.

“Maybe that would have mattered before.”

  “Before what?”

  She didn't answer.

“Are they still after me, or is it the book they want?,” She asked.

Arrow eyed her up and down like a piece of meat.

“They told me stories about the way they worked that sexy little body of yours, ya know. told me all about how they used every one of your holes,” He said with a leer.

Rayna cocked the gun that still rested in her grip.

  “Did they now?”

  Arrow nodded.

“Yeah, they did. They told me you loved it, that you were a greedy little bitch for their cocks, any way you could get ‘em.”

Rayna’s cheeks flushed as shame boggled her mind and flooded her system.

Arrow knew what he was doing; he knew exactly what buttons to push to make her crumble, and it was working.

She wanted to erase the words he’s spoken; she wanted to wipe her slate clean like an old chalk board, but she couldn’t.

Everyone in the room now knew the awful truth.

Sure, they'd probably suspected that the Blazin’ Eagles had used her own body as a weapon agains her, but now there was no more wondering exactly what they’d done to her.

“Did they tell you anything else worth sharing?,” She asked carefully.

“Yeah, that your old man begged for his life like a bitch on his knees,” Arrow hissed as he sucked in a sharp breath.

It made a whistling sound as the air escaped from between his missing teeth, and Rayna glanced at Fury to see if he was listening.

His dark eyes met hers across the room and she could see that he was livid, the anger once again alive in those pretty eyes she loved so much.

“Do the Blazin’ Eagles plan on giving this book to the cartel?,” Rayna asked as she waved her father’s book in the air.

Arrow’s eyes narrowed in on it as he practically started salivating.

What a fucking idiot, does he really think he has a chance at surviving this?

  “Thats what they told me.”

Rayna shook her head as she looked at him; there had to be something else going on here. If the cartel wanted the book badly enough, they’d come knocking on their door themselves and they wouldn't be quiet about it.

Every MC made their own money in their own way, but the Seven Deadlies knew better than to get involved with anything pertaining to the cartel.

  Most clubs did.

That’s why nobody wanted anything to do with the Blazin’ Eagles.

“I don’t think you have anything else to offer me, Arrow.”

His lip curled upwards like a rabid dog, and Rayna watched Prettyboy step towards him.

“Was the betrayal worth it?,” His gritty voice asked.

  “Is it ever?,” Arrow growled.

“Not in my experience,” Rayna said.

It didn't look like he was very remorseful, at least not in her opinion.

Hell, maybe he wasn’t- maybe he didn’t feel guilty about anything, but she was almost one hundred percent certain that he didn’t feel one ounce of remorse over what he’d done to her and the Seven Deadlies.

“Can I ask you one more question before I leave you and Limit to it?”

  “What?”

“What were you going to spend the money on? That is, if you ever saw a dime of it.”

Arrow didn’t answer her right away.

In fact, Rayna was pretty sure he wasn't going to respond at all, so she tucked her gun away waited to see what Limit was going to do next.

He was busy arranging an array of tools along the top of the work bench behind Arrow, his muscular frame stiff and professional.

“I was gonna buy a whole new life, what the fuck do you think I was gonna do with it?”

Limit lifted a pair of pliers into the air and Arrow started screaming.

“No! No, just shoot me, fuck-,” His screams were cut short when Limit gripped his tongue with a pair of pliers and Rayna knew then that it was time for her to take a breather.

Watching Limit tear Arrow’s tongue out wasn't on her list of things to do, so she opted to step outside and smoke a cigarette.

She was still sore, achy, from her rendezvous with Fury. It had been well worth it of course, even if Laura had scolded her handsomely afterwards.

  “You okay?”

  Rayna glanced at Green.

His auburn hair was falling into his eyes and he had his signature smile on his face.

“Yeah, I’m okay. Just a little tired.”

  He motioned towards her belly.

“How’s the battle wound healin’ up?”

  Rayna shrugged.

“It’s healing, I guess. How are you?”

Green started laughing, and Rayna paused, her hand halfway to her mouth.

  “What’s so funny?”

“You are, Rayna. You think I can’t see that terrified look in your eyes right now? Come on, sweetheart. This shit ain’t anywhere close to normal,” He said as he waved a hand towards the garage behind them.

Rayna had to admit that he was right- even though she’d already committed her own fair share of sins since she’d been kidnapped, tonight was different.

This wasn't her attempting to save her own life or anyone else’s.

  “It’s just business, right?”

Her words sounded confident, but Green wrapped an arm around her shoulders anyways.

“Do you want to watch Sweet Home Alabama again?”

She giggled and shook her head.

“No, but I appreciate the offer. Tonight I need to finish a chapter of my life that I didn’t even get to write myself,” She said sheepishly.

Green motioned towards Fury, who was speaking quietly with Ox across the lot.

“You got to write your story with him.”

Rayna couldn’t help the smile that encompassed her face then; Green was right.

She may not have had a choice as far as the Blazin’ Eagles went, but Fury had offered her an alternate ending all their own.

  “I love him, ya know.”

  Green’s lips quirked.

“Yeah, we know. We heard you two going at it the other day,” He said dryly.

Rayna gasped and smacked his arm, but they w
ere both laughing when Fury and Ox joined them.

“What are you two goons laughing about?,” Ox asked.

  Rayna glanced at Fury.

“Nothing important, what’s the word? We got a plan?,” She asked.

Fury smirked and he leaned forward to press his mouth to hers sensually.

Green made a gagging sound, but they ignored him.

“You know how sexy it is to hear you ask that?”

She winked at him, running her tongue over her teeth.

“I’ll show you somethin’ sexy later.”

Ox cleared his throat and shook his head as he laughed.

“Lord, you’re like a bunch of hormonal teenagers around here. We’re shuttin’ the lights down in two minutes. Slayer and Green will guard the fence, Fury and I are gonna man the clubhouse. Limit and Prettyboy are watchin' the garage, and you? You’re sitting with Arrow.”

Rayna nodded, although her insides were being eaten away by familiar bloodthirsty butterflies that showed no mercy.

“I want everyone in position, we don’t know how long this is going to take.”

Rayna dreaded going back into that garage and seeing Arrow again, but that would be nothing compared to the torment of seeing Jaden and Haze up close.

The Blazin’ Eagles she’d shot on the road were far away, she didn't have to see their faces or hear their voices, but this was a whole new ballgame.

“You sure you wanna do this? I’ll do it for you, if you need me to,” Fury said.

His worried expression tugged at her heartstrings.

She cupped his cheek and pressed her mouth to his one more time.

“No, baby. I need to handle this on my own.”

  It’ll eat away a me if I don’t.

  “Okay, if you’re sure.”

  “I love you,” She whispered.

He eyed her for a long moment before he began to smile.

  “I love you, too.”

Rayna watched him stride towards the clubhouse before she huffed a breath and pulled her gun out, holding it against her thigh.

Her blonde hair fell into her eyes as she stepped back into the garage, and as she tucked it behind her ear, she caught sight of Arrow.

  And promptly stopped moving.

Limit looked up at her and grimaced.

“Sorry, sweetheart. Wasn’t my choice to stick you in here.”

Rayna stiffened her spine as she took in the sight before her.

“No, it’s okay. I guess I need to get used to this, huh?”

Limit slowly shook his shaved head.

“No. This isn’t the norm for us either, but shit ain’t been right since the Steel Ponies fiasco.”

Rayna’s gaze fell to Arrow, and Limit gestured towards him.

“You want me to put a sheet over his head?”

“No. Go on outside, I’m sure Ox is waiting for you,” She said softly.

Limit only nodded before he stepped outside into the darkness.

She waited until he was out of sight before she turned back to Arrow.

Rayna winced when Arrow lifted his bloody face towards the light, his eyes glazed over with anguish.

Rayna wasn't completely immune to his suffering, but she knew that he’d made his own bed, and now he had to rot in it.

“Stop lookin’ at me like I'm gong to help you, kid. You fucked me over and you fucked this club over.”

The words fell from her mouth like hard stones, covered in venom, filled with hate.

Now that they were coming down to the wire, the anger she’d worked hard to bury inside of herself was seeping towards the surface of her skin.

Arrow let his head fall forward, blood oozing from his mouth, and Rayna turned her back on him.

“Sucks that you chose the wrong side of the fence to shoot from, Arrow. The Blazin’ Eagles would have killed you, but maybe you could have gotten away. Maybe you could have had a shot at that new life you wanted.”

He didn’t answer her, not even when she turned to look at him again.

The gun in her hand felt heavy as she lifted it towards the light.

Her father’s initials were carved into the barrel, and she ran her ringers over the rough edges.

Rayna missed him dearly, hoped he was up in heaven living the dream.

She also kind of hoped Ox was right, and that even though her justice was the outlaw kind, he was proud of her.

A distinct rumble met her ears and she knew that the party was just getting started.

“Better buckle up, Arrow. Your friends are here,” She muttered as she moved to stand behind his chair.

He didn't stir, and she hadn’t expected him to.

It was dead silent on the lot, something that hadn't happened once since Rayna got there- but she knew the silence was misleading.

Like the calm before the storm, Rayna knew that true evil lurked in the darkness just outside…

  “Drop your guns!”

Ox’s rough voice broke apart the silence like a clap of thunder, and Rayna had her gun raised and waiting, just in case either Jaden or Haze decided they’d try to hide for cover inside the garage.

There was a loud scuffle, swearing, a few insults tossed around, and then the garage door was yanked open and there they were- two phantoms from Rayna’s past she’d hoped were long since gone.

Haze’s lip curled up in disgust.

“You made it this far, huh, you little bitch?”

Fury bashed the butt of his gun into the back of Haze’s head and Rayna smirked when he stumbled, almost falling to his knees.

His hateful eyes were still on her, still filled with loathing, but she didn't care.

“Nice to see you again,” She said.

Jaden spit at her, his saliva clinging to the underside of her chin.

She wiped it away silently, her eyes narrowing.

Rayna felt something snap inside of her; a nasty little switch that released all of that anger that she’d been holding onto, that fueled her.

Limit was holding Jaden with his arms tied behind his back, so Rayna walked around Arrow and planted her foot right in his crotch.

Jaden gasped, his whole body crumpling forward as Limit held him upright.

“Tonight, you’re gonna be my little bitch. Tonight, you're gonna be my toy, and playtime ain’t over until I say it is, you sack of shit!”

Jaden continued to glare at her as Limit shoved him into a chair opposite Arrow.

Arrow looked up then, his battered face almost unrecognizable.

“You fuckin’ traitor,” Haze hissed as Prettyboy shoved him into another chair, working quickly to tie him down.

Rayna didn’t bother pointing out that if he'd betrayed the Seven Deadlies, it wouldn't be too hard for him to do the same to the Blazin’ Eagles.

  “Is the gang all here?”

Green came ambling into the garage then, knocking over a bucket as he did so.

Slayer wasn't far behind him, too busy buttoning his pants to realize that Green had abruptly stopped, and the both of them almost fell over the top of each other.

  “Really guys?,” Rider asked.

“What? I was hungry and Slayer had to piss,” Green grumbled.

Ox looked ready to explode, so Rayna pointed at Haze.

“You want daddy’s black book. Why?”

He laughed at her, his dark head shaking.

  “I ain’t tellin’ you shit.”

Rayna felt her patience thin a bit more, and decided she’d give him one more chance.

“I’ll give you one more opportunity to start talking, or I’m going to make you.”

Jaden laughed, his shoulders rocking, as he pinned her with a smirk.

“Look who thinks she’s a tough bitch now, Haze. She wasn't so tough when we had her tied up and naked, was she?”

Haze shook his head, and Jaden practically giggled.

“Nah, man. She was beggin’ for us to stop, but we tore that ass up, didn't we?”

  Rayna felt he
r cheeks heat much like they had when Arrow mouthed off before about the same sensitive topic.

Fury made a move towards her, and Rayna knew that he wanted to comfort her- she knew that if she let them get the better of her now she’d never get the closure she needed.

Rayna aimed her father’s gun at Jaden’s right knee cap and pulled the trigger.

The loud bang! that followed had every member of the Seven Deadlies flinching, but the sound of Jaden’s cries seemed to soothe them.

“Damn, she’s got a temper to rival yours,” Slayer said to Fury.

His comment made Rayna smile, because fuck yes, she did.

Even having him in the same room as her made her feel stronger.

  Do it for daddy.

  Do it for you, Rayna.

  “Who wants the book?”

“We do! We were gonna use your father’s contact to build a fucking empire!,”Jaden admitted.

Rayna felt eyes on her, and looked up.

Fury was watching her with his sexy dark eyes, and when their eyes met, he smiled at her.

  “What about the cartel?”

“They dropped us! They don’t want nothin’ to do with us. That’s what the meeting in Mexico was about. They reneged on our deal, we’re lucky we left with our fuckin’ heads,” Haze blubbered.

  “When did you meet Arrow?”

“The same week you burned our fuckin’ clubhouse down,” Jaden growled.

He was breathing heavily, his knee bleeding through the thick denim of his jeans.

“What was his mission, exactly? Did you plan on taking me and the book, or just the book itself?”

Haze shrugged, his eyes wide with fear as Limit strolled around his chair.

“Just the book. He was just supposed to find the book by any means necessary!”

Rayna’s eyes narrowed as Haze’s gaze met hers again.

“Where did you bury my father?”

“In a shallow grave, just like we shoulda buried you!”

Jaden said this, his gritty voice reminding her of all the times he forced himself inside of her, of all the times he’d used her body as his own personal playground.

She aimed her father’s gun at his head.

The light from the dim bulb overhead caught on the barrel, making his initials glint.

  J. C.

The image of the Blazin’ Eagles bashing his head in with a baseball bat for fun played behind her wet eyes, torturing her, wrecking her, all over again.

  “Tell me where he is.”
